“Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.” 2 Corinthians 5:20
The Gift of Ambassadorship
The definition of an ambassador is a person who acts as a representative or promoter of a specified activity. Does a country or organization let just anyone be an ambassador? Usually, they would want to pick someone who will represent their country or organization well, with respect and honor. What a privilege it is to have that responsibility and position! God has chosen all of us to be His ambassadors. He has given all of us the guidance and wisdom we need to be able to live in a way that brings Him honor and praise. Let us not forget to represent Him well and to be grateful that He has given us this position!
Prayer over our Hearts
Dear Heavenly Father, we thank you for giving us everything we need to represent you well. I pray that I can always display your love to others in order to bring them to you and to bring you glory every single day. Please forgive me when I do not act in a way that represents you well. I ask that I will see my own failings and continue to strive to be an ambassador who leads others to you. It’s in Jesus’ precious name that I pray, Amen.

Several years ago (probably close to a decade now) I did a short study on being an ambassador for Christ. It was good stuff. I should look up those notes and do it again. Thanks for this.
I would love to hear those notes! 🙂
I know that is only by grace alone that I am made worthy to counsel others in their hurt and pain and hope to lead them to a greater relationship with God!
Absolutely! When we think of it like that, it makes us more aware of how we are acting and how we are representing Him!
When I think of ambassadors, they need to be upright citizens and great role models. While in my humanness I’m none of these, Jesus’ death on the cross gives me this!
Praise God for that!
