Introducing Elizabeth!

Hello!I grew up in sunny Southern California and made my way out to Oklahoma where I attended college.I met my amazing husband there, and the rest is history! We have 3 spirited kiddos, 2 fluffy poodles, and we worship 1 amazing God!We are a homeschooling family and we currently are living the small town life in Newcastle, Oklahoma. I love crafting, writing, and decorating on a dime!

I am a recovering Army brat who loves to travel and start new adventures. My handsome husband and I met at Oklahoma Christian University and he whisked me away to Kansas. So, I bought some ruby red high heels and made Topeka my home. I have a rough and rowdy Princess 2-year-old girl and amazing twin boys (1) who make every day an adventure. We are grateful to be part of an amazing church in Topeka who regularly challenges and encourages our whole family. I have been both a full-time working mom and a stay-at-home-mom and/or both at the same time at one point or another. I am constantly seeking God’s wisdom on “balancing it all” and following His plan for my life, not mine.

1. What is your favorite Bible verse?
Seems cliché but probably Romans 8:28. “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who[a] have been called according to his purpose.”
God is faithful, His will is sovereign. I cling to this truth daily.

2. Who is the most relatable Bible character to you and why?
Moses. He struggled and doubted, he felt flawed and inadequate, he had a past and a frustrating family, he got angry but he loved his people fiercely. In spite of, or because of, all of this God fully prepared and equipped him to fulfill the purpose for which he was called. Moses was righteous and he loved and obeyed God even through the consequences he bore for both his own failings and the failings of the Israelites.

3. What is your favorite go-to easy meal?
Tacos! My husband loves them and they can be a great “clean out the fridge” opportunity. ☺

4. What are your hobbies?
Honestly, I’d like to say my hobbies are “shopping and doing Pinterest crafts” but really, it’s Politics.

5. What is your favorite tv show or movie?
Favorite Movie, this is a hard one to narrow down but my go to classic is probably either Emma or When Harry Met Sally. Favorite show, well it would be cooler to say “Castle”, but again with the honesty… it is Star Trek TNG.

6. What’s your favorite thing to do in your free time?
My favorite thing to do in my free time is spend time together as a family doing something memorable or go on a walk with my husband.

7. Who is your role model?
Identifying one role model is hard because there are so many different people who have deeply influenced my life in various areas, but if I go with a current well-known celebrity role model- right now it’s Candace Cameron Bure.

8. Would your rather vacation at a mountain cabin or a beach house?
BEACH! All. The. Way. I daydream about it regularly.

9. What is the best thing about yourself?
Not a great day to ask this one, haha. This particular day on which I am answering these questions has not been my most stellar performance. ☺ Today the best thing is my AMAZING shoe collection. LOL But really, my shoe collection is pretty great.

10. What is one of your favorite books and/or what are you reading right now?

I love reading. My favorite quote is “You can’t get a cup of tea big enough or a book long enough to suit me” – C.S. Lewis Out of the Silent Planet and The Adventures of Tom Sawyer are leftover favorites from my childhood, along with the Chronicles of Narnia. But I am lover of Sherlock Holmes and Agatha Christie. Right now, I am burrowing into an Agatha Raisin mystery.

I love crafting, writing, and decorating on a dime!

I am a proud wife and Mother! My hubby, Tyler, and I both attended Oklahoma Christian where our love grew! We got married, had two beautiful kiddos, our son Gunner and daughter Brooklyn and we are living a truly blessed life! I am currently a stay at home Mom, a Jamberry Independent Consultant and help my husband in every way in his position as a youth minister (it’s a true labor of love and we wouldn’t be anywhere else!). I am also working on my teacher certification so when both my kids get into school I will have a job that I am passionate about, get to see my kids all the time and will be out when they are out. I am most importantly a Christian and strive daily to keep God #1 because he is the reason I have all the amazing blessings, I give him all the praise!

1. What is your favorite Bible verse?
Romans 12:12 “Rejoice in hope, patient in affliction, constant in prayer.”

2. Who is the most relatable Bible character to you and why?
MARTHA! I am always doing something and feel like as long as you are working you are doing good. However, sometimes I need to be like my sister Mary and just BE in the presence of our Lord:) Martha meant well though!

3. What is your favorite go-to easy meal?
Spaghetti baby!!!! It’s always a crowd pleaser and I get to hear my babies try to say spaghetti, it ALWAYS comes out “ba’sketti!”

He would not only be there for me, but I always got lots of love, hugs and advice based on what the Bible teaches. Also, I could always rely on him for anything. I will forever be thankful for his influence in my life! I even named one of my kiddos after him!

8. Would your rather vacation at a mountain cabin or a beach house?
I would have to say mountain cabin! I grew up always going to Colorado on family vacations (and still do!) and I love it every summer!

9. What is the best thing about yourself?
One of the talents God graced me with is being a people person! I can literally talk to ANYONE and have know their whole life story at the end of the convo!

10. What is one of your favorite books and/or what are you reading right now?
“Muscle and a Shovel” by Michael Shank

Hello!I grew up in sunny Southern California and made my way out to Oklahoma where I attended college.I met my amazing husband there, and the rest is history! We have 3 spirited kiddos, 2 fluffy poodles, and we worship 1 amazing God!We are a homeschooling family and we currently are living the small town life in Newcastle, Oklahoma. I love crafting, writing, and decorating on a dime!

Hello, there!  I grew up as a military kid who loved adventure, so I fell in love with and married a military man right after college graduation.  The two of us had adventures together as we traveled for a while, but we finally settled in cozy Southern Indiana.  However the excitement is still alive, because God has given us four kiddos that I homeschool.  I love nerding out on anything from school curriculum to thrift store bargain hunting, from rockin’ recipes to theological debates, and pretty much any lively discussion in between.  Thanks for reading!

1 .   What is your favorite Bible verse?
Jesus did many other things as well.  If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written.  John 21:25   I adore this verse because, to me, it highlights the vastness of His greatness, the immeasurable deeds He performs out of His love for His creation, and leaves me awe struck in the beautiful mystery that is the our Great and Holy God.  I look forward to seeing Him face to face someday and seeing Him in all His glory!

2.    Who is the most relatable Bible character to you and why?
I’m relating to Moses the most these days.  He was an Israelite, yet lived in the comfort of Pharaoh’s palace and not in slavery like his brothers and sisters did.  I feel this way when I read about persecuted Christians around the world while living in my comfy American home.  Also, he doubted his ability to do what God was asking him to do.  Boy, do I related to this!  I doubt my ability to parent and homeschool the four kids God has given me, yet I hang on this verse that God spoke to Moses at the burning bush: The Lord said to him, “Who gave human beings their mouths? Who makes them deaf or mute? Who gives them sight or makes them blind? Is it not I, the Lord?  Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.”  I expound on this as I pray this for myself and other moms.  I pray that God would give us the words and wisdom to see our children’s hearts and lead them into devoted service to the King of Kings.  Lastly, I can relate how Moses became frustrated with the Israelites.  I sure can get frustrated with my children and with myself also! I can’t relate to the parting of the Red Sea, but I’m only 37 so maybe I’ll be able to someday. 😉

3.    What is your favorite go-to easy meal?

Spaghetti, baby!  I boil up some whole wheat noodles and dump in a jar of sauce.  Throw some baby lettuces in a bowl with some dressing and BOOM!  Dinner is served!

4.    What are your hobbies?

Hobbies?  Mommyhood. 🙂  It’s the season of life for me right now and I’m completely thankful for that. I try to cherish it as the precious gift it is.  However, sometimes for Mother’s Day I will ask for a day to rekindle pre-mommyhood hobbies which are sewing, paper crafting and dancing.

5.    What is your favorite tv show or movie?
My favorite movie is the A&E version of Pride and Prejudice.  When Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth bump into each other at Pemberley, my heart skips a beat in excitement!

6.    What’s your favorite thing to do in your free time?

Well, free time is a scarce commodity these days with four blessings running around the house.  If I should have a few spare minutes, i like to read something short that I can actually finish like an article, blog post, Bible chapter or pop onto Facebook.

7.     Who is your role model?

I’m going to be a defector and not go with the obvious answer for a Christian (Jesus) so my second role model is my mom.  She is one rockin’ Nana to her grandbabies and a pretty amazing mother-in-law too.  I’m taking a lot of mental notes on how to show and feel genuine love for my future daughter-in-laws and son-in-law.

8.     Would your rather vacation at a mountain cabin or a beach house?

A beach house!  Though if I’m really honest, I need it to be a beach house with a private beach.  While I truly love my body, it gave me four babies and is all beautifully stretched out forever, I still don’t want to be relaxing on the beach with super toned women playing volleyball around me while I lay on a towel eating candy.

9.   What is the best thing about yourself?
I don’t try to pretend that anything good about me comes from anywhere else but God’s grace and gifts, but if I were to pick one of His gifts to me, I would say that I appreciate how He made me very adaptable.  I don’t get stressed when plans change suddenly or if things don’t work out according to how I envisioned them, etc.  God allows me to regroup quickly and adapt to the new.  I’m thankful for that.

10.  What is one of your favorite books and/or what are you reading right now?

Again, I’m going to defect from the obvious answer for a Christian (the Bible) and go with the second book that I constantly reference in my mind:  Shepherding A Child’s Heart by Todd Tripp.  As mentioned before, I’m totally into my mommy mode season of life and this book completely revolutionized how I interact with and disciple my children.  I’m very thankful for the insight in that book!  The book I am reading right now, or actually listening to as I fall asleep each night, is The Hiding Place by Corrie Ten Boom.  So inspirational!

IMG_1079I am an Oklahoman by birth and current living situation, but claim the world as my playground.  I love to travel and hope someday soon to take our family on adventures to far off lands, where we can share Jesus with others and experience all the wonders He has created.  I am a mother of 4 crazy, homeshooling children ages 7 & under, wife to an amazing man, and daughter of a King!  I enjoy reading, making my kids laugh, cooking,  all things natural, exploring, learning to play guitar and dusting off my piano skills.  One day, I hope to run again, but until then I am learning patience.

tinaTina P. Canadian by birth, American by marriage, Japanese at heart. I’m a small town, farm-girl from Canada, living in the city (suburb) of Little Rock, Arkansas.  I spent 3 years in Japan after college.  That was over 10 years ago, and I still think about it every single day.  The things I love: all things Japanese, all things natural & organic, the great outdoors, DIY projects, essential oils, learning all the things Grandma was a pro at (canning, crafting, gardening, crocheting, etc), heart-to-heart talks with my closest girlfriends & Jesus.  My job allows me to love on people, help them restore hope, and encourage them to dream again.  Currently, that involves helping Arkansas tornado survivors rebuild their homes & their lives.  I have an amazing, hard-working, stud-muffin husband of 6 years, and we are (sometimes!) patiently waiting for that miraculous moment(s) when God will bless us with tiny people.  In the mean-time, we work, play & enjoy this adventurous day our Creator has made!
