Hello. I grew up traveling the world as a military brat. I ultimately felt God’s pull to Oklahoma Christian University where I met my husband. We now have 3 beautiful children and have settled in Mustang, Oklahoma. I am a homeschooling mom and with 3 kiddos it is a full time job! I am daily encouraged by God’s great patience and grace in my life. In my free time I enjoy reading and crafting.
1. What is your favorite Bible verse?
Psalm 139:9-10
“If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.”
2. Who is the most relatable Bible character to you and why?
I have always loved the book of Job. I don’t totally understand why, but I think it may be partly because I admire his faith and perseverance. I think the other part of it is his raw suffering that you see in the book. I think he may be arguably one of the most raw characters of the bible. You can feel his grief and suffering through his words. I think that I can identify with each person presented in the book of Job, from those who urge him to rebuke his faith, to Job who stands fast in his faith in God and is blessed beyond measure in the end.
3. What is your favorite go-to easy meal?
Cheese and black bean quesadillas or bean soup.
4. What are your hobbies?
I love to read however I don’t generally have too much time for it. I also really enjoy crafting anything that I can with a glue gun! But again, I rarely have time for it anymore.
5. What is your favorite tv show or movie?
I like watching Chopped on Netflix on the rare occasion that I have the TV to myself! I also love Pride and Prejudice.
6. What’s your favorite thing to do in your free time?
The most refreshing thing I have done in my free time is going to Target and wondering the aisles alone.
7. Who is your role model?
My great-grandmother is definitely my role model. She is the most classy, stable, strong Christian woman I have ever known. She has known her share of heartache and yet her faith proves strong. She will be 92 this year and has deteriorated greatly in the last two years. I wish I could talk to her and see her in all of her glory again!
8. Would your rather vacation at a mountain cabin or a beach house?
I am always torn on this question because I am definitely a people person and I thrive on personal relationships however I really covet my alone time (which I NEVER get anymore!). So right now I’d say mountain cabin if the kids weren’t there, because I wouldn’t want to have to entertain them!
9. What is the best thing about yourself?
I have a diverse background because of being raised in a military family and growing up around the country and the world. I feel like this makes me more accepting of others differences (sometimes, I’m still human!). I hope that my diverse experiences allows me to reach different kinds of people.
10. What is one of your favorite books and/or what are you reading right now?
I’m not reading anything right now, however I do love The Giver. It is one I read every year.
