Did you ever go to summer camp and play that game where you have to answer questions about yourself based on how many pieces of toilet paper you pulled off a toilet paper roll?
You know, the camp counselor says, “Take off as much toilet paper as you usually use,” but unless you’ve played the game before you have no idea what you’re going to actually do with that toilet paper. I always thought that game was SO embarrassing! Not because you had to answer questions about yourself, but because how much TP a lady uses is private business!
To this day when I see a roll of toilet paper come out during any bridal/baby shower or team-building exercise I pray, “Please let it be the wrap-a-person-up-like-a-mummy game!” Thankfully, no TP was involved in asking/answering the following questions about myself. (Thank you, fellow Creating a Great Day sisters for that!) So, without further ado–or any toilet paper–here’s a little bit about me.
1. What is your favorite Bible verse?
“For the Lord has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and a sound mind.” 2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV)
2. Who is the most relatable Bible character to you and why?
Martha. I feel for her every time I read the account of Jesus coming to visit while she continued cleaning and cooking! I am a go-go-go kind of gal, and I want things to be PERFECT when people come over to my house, no matter who they are. Therefore, sometimes my go-go-go and get ‘er done personality distracts my focus from people and relationships onto tasks.
3. What is your favorite go-to easy meal?
Grilled hamburgers with my hubby!
4. What are your hobbies?
Power walking with girlfriends. Making things and/or people look and feel beautiful. Going exploring. (This needs a little clarification though! By no means do I mean, “Going into the woods and checking out caves.” I consider trying a new restaurant, checking out a new shopping center, or taking a different route home to be “exploring!”)
5. What is your favorite tv show / movie?
The Little Couple on TLC / Apollo 13
6. What’s your favorite thing to do in your free time?
FaceTime with my family in Georgia
7. Who is your role model?
I have two! Janet Clark, my mom, and Mary Kay Ash, founder of Mary Kay Cosmetics.
8. Would you rather vacation at a mountain cabin or a beach house?
Beach house (preferably on the gulf side of Florida or somewhere in the Caribbean)
9. What is the best thing about yourself?
That I’m usually one of the first people to laugh at myself.
10. What is one of your favorite books and/or what are you reading right now?
All-time favorite non-fiction book – Boundaries by Henry Cloud and John Townsend
All-time favorite fiction book – The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver
Currently reading – The Happiest Baby on the Block by Harvey Karp
Would you answer any of these questions the same way? Any other closet astronauts / Martha’s / Boundaries-changed-my-life ladies out there? Would love to meet you!
