The Creating a Great Day Team is a group of women passionate about Christ and his life changing love!
As the Creating a Great Day Team, we want to encourage you on your journey with Christ or invite you to know Him, if you don’t already. It is inspiring to hear how he has worked in others lives and we get excited when people are faithful to his calling. He can literally turn the darkest night to day and give us joy where it would seem none should exist.
So we’ve started this blog to shine God’s glory and encourage your flame to keep shining brightly for him! We would love to walk along with you on this journey called life and encourage us all in Creating a Great Day. This is the day the Lord has made! Let us rejoice and be glad in it.
God has provided us with a great group of women who are hard workers and are dedicated to bringing you fresh and encouraging content! We are excited for you to get to know us a little better.

I am an Oklahoman by birth and current living situation, but claim the world as my playground. I love to travel and hope someday soon to take our family on adventures to far off lands, where we can share Jesus with others and experience all the wonders He has created. I am a mother of 4 crazy, homeshooling children ages 7 & under, wife to an amazing man, and daughter of a King! I enjoy reading, making my kids laugh, cooking, all things natural, exploring, learning to play guitar and dusting off my piano skills. One day, I hope to run again, but until then I am learning patience.

Lana W. I’m a native Oklahoman. Married 17 years to the first boy I ever dated. Mama to two amazing, darling girls. I’m a coffee-drinking, book-reading, home-educating night owl! An accountant in my life B.C. (Before Children), my dream job would be getting paid to read all day. And if you’re into Meyers-Briggs personality tests, I’m an ISTJ. Most important of all, I’m a follower of Christ.

My days are filled with the duties of motherhood and homemaking but when I find a moment to myself I enjoy reading cookbooks, blogs, and Karen Kingsbury’s books. I have a slight addiction to facebook and pinterest. Holidays are my favorite days. I love to cook meals that make people happy. I have a passion for family ministry and bible class teaching. Most importantly, my greatest desire to is to know my heavenly Father more each day.

God has blessed us with a great big world, and I try to go see it whenever I can! Admittedly, I have an unusual life where I get to teach what I love 8-9 months out of the year and then go travel and serve the Kingdom in my other home the rest of the time: Edmond, Oklahoma and Vienna, Austria. I have a bunch of college “kids” I call my own, 2 dogs named Abby and McGee (yes, I love NCIS) and I get to be “the cool aunt” to 2 beautiful nieces and 3 handsome nephews.
A lot of what I write revolves around what God teaches me through those experiences and I invite you to “travel” with me in those times! Basically, I want to be Rick Steves (the travel writer) and Lysa TerKeurst (Proverbs 31 Ministries) when I grow up! 🙂 Fair warning: I’ll ask you the tough questions! I treasure deep relationships – especially ones that will allow for “iron sharpening iron.”
Love well…breathe deep….show mercy!

I am a proud wife and Mother! My hubby, Tyler, and I both attended Oklahoma Christian where our love grew! We got married, had two beautiful kiddos, our son Gunner and daughter Brooklyn and we are living a truly blessed life! I am currently a stay at home Mom and help my husband in every way in his position as a youth minister (it’s a true labor of love and we wouldn’t be anywhere else!). I am also working on my teacher certification so when both my kids get into school I will have a job that I am passionate about, get to see my kids all the time and will be out when they are out. I am most importantly a Christian and strive daily to keep God #1 because he is the reason I have all the amazing blessings, I give him all the praise!
I am a recovering Army brat who loves to travel and start new adventures. My handsome husband and I met at Oklahoma Christian University and he whisked me away to Kansas. So, I bought some ruby red high heels and made Topeka my home. I have a rough and rowdy Princess 2-year-old girl and amazing twin boys (1) who make every day an adventure. We are grateful to be part of an amazing church in Topeka who regularly challenges and encourages our whole family. I have been both a full-time working mom and a stay-at-home-mom and/or both at the same time at one point or another. I am constantly seeking God’s wisdom on “balancing it all” and following His plan for my life, not mine.
I am “Mom” to Chloe, Allie, & Emilia. I am wife to Misael Escobar. I am a child of God. I love to learn about other cultures and learn about others life experiences. I am always a “work in progress”. Through many struggles I have become “me” and I am finally happy with the person God has led me to be. I am excited to see where God will lead me in this life.
I am a certified fitness instructor and have been teaching group fitness classes for over 22 years. I am also a board certified holistic health counselor with a degree from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York City. I am 48 years old with a 25 year old daughter and a 23 year old son. My husband Chris and I have been married for 28 years. I have been a member of the Church of Christ my entire life as well as my mother, father and both sets of grandparents. I am the owner of a local food service based business and currently teach conditioning classes here in the Edmond area. I have been a strict vegetarian for many years but I will walk 10 miles barefoot in the snow for a good piece of chocolate! 😉
Hello. I grew up traveling the world as a military brat. I ultimately felt God’s pull to Oklahoma Christian University where I met my husband. We now have 3 beautiful children and have settled in Mustang, Oklahoma. I am a homeschooling mom and with 3 kiddos it is a full time job! I am daily encouraged by God’s great patience and grace in my life. In my free time I enjoy reading and crafting.
Hi! Born in the great state of Texas and raised in the northern suburbs of Atlanta, this Daughter of the Alamo/Georgia Peach is still adjusting to life in Razorback Nation! My husband and I live just outside of Little Rock, Arkansas with our two crazy pups and new baby girl, Avery. I’m a small business owner, chocolate aficionado, and travel lover with a 2pm coffee hour no matter what time zone I’m in!
I’m Lori! My husband and I have been married since 2008. We adopted our son in July and live in Memphis, TN. One of the things I love about Creating a Great Day is that it is focused on inspiring women to the woman that God wants them to be. Every woman is different, and we all have talents to honor God and walk alongside each other in this spiritual journey called life. Have a blessed day!
Originally from Texas, but now I claim Oklahoma with my awesome husband and adorable baby girl. I enjoy baking, crafting, reading, and a good cup of coffee.
is an Okie with a Texas heart. She is a wife and a mother of three – two boys and a girl (the girl being squished right in the middle). After having taught in the classroom for 8 years, she now happily finds herself as a stay-at-home homeschool mom living life on her little 1 1/2 acre homestead raising chickens, two goats and a small garden. In any spare time, she enjoys leisure reading and also enjoys writing on her blog (chroniclesofakeeper.com). Out of all the little adventures of life – her greatest joy is found in her relationship with God. Walking in His grace, living in His peace and resting in His redemption is something she is very passionate about sharing with others.
Hello, there! I grew up as a military kid who loved adventure, so I fell in love with and married a military man right after college graduation. The two of us had adventures together as we traveled for a while, but we finally settled in cozy Southern Indiana. However the excitement is still alive, because God has given us four kiddos that I homeschool. I love nerding out on anything from school curriculum to thrift store bargain hunting, from rockin’ recipes to theological debates, and pretty much any lively discussion in between. Thanks for reading!
Hello! I am a native So Cal resident. Accountant by day, but more importantly the mom of an awesome and fun preteen boy who I often refer to as “Man-child.” We are a two person, one corgi, one goldfish household with a heart for God and family.
I was born in Denver, Colorado. I moved to OKC after quitting my jobs as a teacher and Youth Intern to pursue the call into ministry. I started as a non traditional student at Oklahoma where I met my husband. He was a non traditional student working on a 2nd degree after moving from Poland to pursue a degree in Ministry. We dreamed together of serving the Lord in Europe. Now we are blessed to be witness to the awesome way that God works all over the world. We live in Vienna, Austria with our 3 kids.
We work with Eastern European Mission. We provide Bibles and ethics materials in native languages of Eastern Europe. That means we get to see God’s hand and providence all over Europe. I am Publishing Assistant at EEM and a fitness trainer. I fill my days caring for my family, teaching gym classes and designing book covers and working on details to provide quality materials to those who need God’s word. In my free time I paint, cook, make jewelry and run 2 blogs.
Wife, mom, daughter, teacher, blogger, crafter, organizer – but most and best of all, I am a Christian. I am passionate about my family and my God. I am married to my best friend and am blessed with a one year old son who keeps me busy all the time staying at home with him. And I am glad to be in the service of our incredible and awesome God.
Canadian by birth, American by marriage, Japanese at heart. I’m a small town, farm-girl from Canada, living in the city (suburb) of Little Rock, Arkansas. I spent 3 years in Japan after college. That was over 10 years ago, and I still think about it every single day. The things I love: all things Japanese, all things natural & organic, the great outdoors, DIY projects, essential oils, learning all the things Grandma was a pro at (canning, crafting, gardening, crocheting, etc), heart-to-heart talks with my closest girlfriends & Jesus.
My job allows me to love on people, help them restore hope, and encourage them to dream again. Currently, that involves helping Arkansas tornado survivors rebuild their homes & their lives. I have an amazing, hard-working, stud-muffin husband of 6 years, and we are (sometimes!) patiently waiting for that miraculous moment(s) when God will bless us with tiny people. In the mean-time, we work, play & enjoy this adventurous day our Creator has made!
Toni was born and raised in a small town in Oklahoma. She graduated from East Central University with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Economics. After college, she returned to her hometown to marry her best friend, Charles. Toni is a stay at home mom to their three teens, two boys and a girl, whom God led them to homeschool. Her goal is to raise her children to love and serve the Lord. They live on a farm where they grow produce to sell at several farmers markets. She also plays the piano at church and teaches piano.
Hey! While most of my life was spent in Colorado, I am happy to now call Oklahoma my home. I am amazingly blessed to have a supportive and God-fearing husband who is also a terrific dad to our four kiddos (who we had in a 3 year 9 month time frame). I love to drink coffee, sing, hear people’s stories and have dance parties. I am passionate about my relationship with Jesus and desire to share that gift with every person that I meet. My hope is that I can encourage someone today with and through the Word of God and His steadfast love. ::psalm 27:4::
