Birthday Wish

Our oldest son will be turning 7 next month. Since our family’s situation has changed over the last year, money has been tight. A year ago, we started doing birthday celebrations differently. Our house doesn’t need to be littered with any more toys so we opted for experiences instead. We’ve used our museum passes to play at the Children’s Museum and the Science Museum for our daughters’ birthdays. The splash pad was the perfect place for our August born child. And as we were discussing with our almost 7 year old, what he would like to do for his birthday this year, I received a message from my friend Nicky over at Little Family Adventures.

“Morning Kristi!!! Would you be interested in iFly for you and one of the kids?”

So I pulled up this video and had my kids watch it.  Immediately, my son became so excited!  He was jumping up and down and trying to “fly” off the nearest chair.  He wanted to go immediately.  Thanks to US Family Guide sending us to try this adventure out, my son will get to experience this birthday wish!  It’s going to be a high flying time.

 If you’ve never been, now is a great time to try flying for yourself.  The US Family Guide has a 20% off coupon available to celebrate your next birthday.  iFly is open to ages from 3 to 103, so it is the perfect family experience. Call in to book your Super Swooper Birthday Party and recieve 20% off just by mentioning the coupon in US Family Guide!

God’s Faithfulness

It’s just one more way that God has blessed us this year. Psalm 145 has been our family’s verse since our lives changed back in 2011.  We can’t help but praise Him for all he has done and for all that He is.  He is faithful and has led our family through the high and difficult times of life and blesses us with wonderful gifts like this along the way.

Throughout this year while my husband took care of his grandparents, God provided.  As my husband has been looking for a job, God has provided.  And even in the little things like my son’s birthday, He has once again blessed us with an opportunity that we couldn’t do otherwise at this time. It is a humbling blessing and I can’t wait to share with you the experience my son has. Until then, I’ll leave you with some of my favorite verses, Psalm !45:9-13:

The Lord is good to all;
    he has compassion on all he has made.
10 All your works praise you, Lord;
    your faithful people extol you.
11 They tell of the glory of your kingdom
    and speak of your might,
12 so that all people may know of your mighty acts
    and the glorious splendor of your kingdom.
13 Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom,
    and your dominion endures through all generations.

God provides blessings in both big and small ways.  What ways have you noticed lately?
